Position Overview:

The Installation Field Engineer executes all project assignments, individually or as part of a project team. Assignments may include involvement in multiple projects simultaneously. The focus of this position is Installation Engineering, Pre-Outage and Outage Activities, and Equipment Start-Up.

Primary Duties:

  • Installation Project Schedule creation and management.
  • Manage Installation Contractors (Electrical, Mechanical, etc) for installations at IMS client sites for both Pre-Outage and Outage Activities consisting of project site reports, answering contractor questions, attending and/or leading update meetings, and providing direction to the contractors to keep the schedule on time and changing priorities when required.
  • Leads Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) for IMS during outages and coordinates LOTO with the client and the construction contractor.
  • Assist or lead wire tagging activities for any equipment being changed out including investigations of any wiring that is not documented or missing. This might include creating de-term and term sheets if not already created.
  • Assist with on-site commissioning activities involving the equipment, wiring, piping, etc., installed to ensure everything is installed correctly and assist in troubleshooting activities.
  • Can read and understand electrical schematics (existing and new), civil drawings, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic drawings.
  • ·Redline Installation Drawings so “As-Built” drawings can be completed by the Installation Design Team

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Travel requirements up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with AC and DC Drive systems.
  • Experience managing construction craft contractors, LOTO, and machine outages.
  • Metals processing knowledge is preferred.
  • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, and complimentary areas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic team environment is required.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
